location- Situated near the picturesque Yellow Waters Billabong, in the heart of Kakadu National Park, 3 hours drive from Darwin. Cooinda is a good spot to stay and enjoy a Yellow Waters cruise. Nature walks and the Aboriginal Cultural Centre are also available in this area. Yellow Waters is a must as one can see hundreds of species of Australian birds and crocodiles. rooms- Lodge rooms are fairly basic, but adequate. restaurant- Barra Bar and Bistro were renovated in 2005, open daily for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Mimi s Restaurant has also been refurbished in 2005. At night the hotel also offers "Cook your own BBQ" with local delicacies. exterior- Low rise lodge style accommodation. Swimming pool was renovated in 2005. (There is also a campsite near by, and dormitory style accommodation). lobby- Small lobby, typical of outback style accommodation lodgings. general- Basic accommodation, but very handy for Yellow Waters cruises.
