Gaudi's patron, Eusebi Guell, planned a suburban "city." His property was high above Barcelona, northwest and some distance from the city. More than 60 housing plots were allocated although only two homes were built on the property. The project was radical for its time and, as a real estate project, was a failure. The Barcelona City Council bought the property in 1922 and in the following year converted it to a municipal park.
Gaudi avoided levelling the grounds so that the Park Guell has a network of twisting roads which follow the contours of the land.
The lowest point is the entrance, from which a double staircase leads to the hypostyle chamber, the ceiling of which serves as the floor of the huge public square.
Outlying areas have imaginative viaducts and colonnades, which in their design evoke natural

Casa Batlló is a building restored by Antoni Gaudí and Josep Maria Jujol, built in the year 1877 and remodelled in the years 1905–1907; located at 43, Passeig de Gràcia (passeig is Catalan for promenade or avenue), part of the Illa de la Discòrdia in the Eixample district of Barcelona, Catalonia.
The local name for the building is Casa dels ossos (House of Bones), and indeed it does have a visceral, skeletal organic quality. It was originally designed for a middle-class family and situated in a prosperous district of Barcelona.
The building looks very remarkable — like everything Gaudí designed, only identifiable as Modernisme or Art Nouveau in the broadest sense. The ground floor, in particular, is rather astonishing with tracery, irregular oval windows and flowing sculpted stone work.
It seems that the goal of the designer was to avoid straight lines completely. Much of the façade is decorated with a mosaic made of broken ceramic tiles (trencadís) that starts in shades of golden orange moving into greenish blues. The roof is arched and was likened to the back of a dragon or dinosaur. A common theory about the building is that the rounded feature to the left of centre, terminating at the top in a turret and cross, represents the sword of Saint George (patron saint of Catalonia), which has been plunged into the back of the dragon.

The Temple Expiatori de la Sagrada Família (official Catalan name; Spanish: Templo Expiatorio de la Sagrada Familia; "Expiatory Temple of the Holy Family"), often simply called the Sagrada Família, is a massive Roman Catholic church under construction in Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain. Construction began in 1882 and continues to this day.
Originally designed by Antoni Gaudí (1852 – 1926), who worked on the project for over 40 years, devoting the last 15 years of his life entirely to the endeavor, the project is scheduled to be completed in 2026. On the subject of the extremely long construction period, Gaudí is said to have remarked, "My client is not in a hurry." After Gaudí's death in 1926, work continued under the direction of Domènech Sugranyes until interrupted by the Spanish Civil War in 1936.
Parts of the unfinished church and Gaudí's models and workshop were destroyed during the war by Catalan anarchists. The design, as now being constructed, is based both on reconstructed versions of the lost plans and on modern adaptations. Since 1940 the architects Francesc Quintana, Isidre Puig Boada, Lluís Bonet i Gari and Francesc Cardoner have carried on the work. The current director and son of Lluís Bonet, Jordi Bonet i Armengol, has been introducing computers into the design and construction process since the 1980s. Mark Burry of New Zealand serves as Executive Architect and Researcher. Sculptures by J. Busquets, Etsuro Sotoo and the controversial Josep Subirachs decorate the fantastical façades.
According to the newspaper El Periódico de Catalunya, 2.26 million people visited the partially built church in 2004, making it one of the most popular attractions in Spain. The central nave vaulting was completed in 2000 and the main tasks since then have been the construction of the transept vaults and apse. Current work (2006) concentrates on the crossing and supporting structure for the main tower of Jesus Christ as well as the southern enclosure of the central nave which will become the Glory façade.

The CAFÉ DE LA PRINCESA is housed in a 14th century palace in the Ribera district, between the Picasso Museum, the Born municipal market and the Santa María del Mar church.
The story of the Café begins in 1997 with the acquisition of a former palace at the corner of Flassaders and Sabateret streets by its current owners. At the time, these were somber, little-traveled alleyways compared to Moncada Street, the lively neighboring street where the Picasso Museum is located. In 1999, after extensive remodeling, the palace reopened its doors converted into a multi-purpose space where gastronomy, fashion, art and culture converge. The originality of the project attracted new businesses to the area and soon Flassaders and Sabateret were transformed into animated streets with varied commercial offerings.
The interior of the Café de la Princesa is divided into different zones which, nevertheless, maintain a visual and spatial continuity.
Within the space is the restaurant in a large atrium covered by a glass dome that lets in natural light. The tables, comfortably set off from each other, can seat a total of 130 people. The menu features Mediterranean dishes, based on fresh, local ingredients, with a few exotic touches. A fixed-price menu is available at midday. The same space is the site of cultural activities: painting and photography exhibits, presentations of books, gatherings and, during the dinner hour, live jazz performances.
In the shop, one can find men’s and women’s clothing from such prestigious designers as Julie Sohn and Sand, unique gift objects, folk art from different parts of Spain and all over the world (Poland, Germany, Morrocco, India, Nepal, Colombia, etc.), and furniture of our own design.
We continue to work enthusiastically to improve our services and, especially, to enhance our cultural offerings.
