What you are about to witness is in all aspects an excellent golf course. Thousands upon thousands of tons of earth were moved and 90 000 trees planted at incredible expense. The result is a resort golf course which will delight many a golfer in the future. You will find the lively course entertaining during the entire time you spend at Abama. Wonderful rolling fairways lead you through layouts that suddenly and surprisingly change and you, the player, will be left almost breathless. Just like pearls on a chain, the paths lead you far up towards the mountains. Magnificent views over the Atlantic to the island of La Gomera are a feast for your eyes. The greens seem to float above the sea. Dave Thomas, the designer, and his architect Melvin Villarroel expertly apply many optical illusions. You often have the feeling that you cannot find a goal for your ball. That is how difficult the terrain looks from the tee. After you have bravely hit the ball into the distance, you will notice that the spot where your ball actually landed has lots and lots more space around it than you imagined.
