PARADOR
location- This Parador is situated on the outskirts of the historic town of Tordesillas. It is just 1 kilometre from the city centre and set in beautiful wooded surroundings on its hilltop location. Very close to this hotel are found the castles of Torrelobaton, Olmedo, Simancas, Medina Del Campo, Mota del Marques, Toro, Tiedra and Urdena. rooms- Its 73 rooms are decorated in castilian style with furniture of the same type. They all have minibar, telephone, television and marvellous views. restaurant- A spacious room which can accomodate 120 people. A varied range of local and Regional dishes can be sampled.Among its culinary specialities can be hightlighted grilled pepers and " Cecina de vaca" ( dried beef). exterior- It is a Clasical construction, opened in 1958. The style is castilian and the facade is austere, neither classical or modern, which blends in with the surrounding area. The castillian styles dominates in the external line and the interior, where some of the rooms contain valuable antiques. lobby- It is nicely decorated with some antiques, such as an old Grandfather clock and some chests. general- There is a considerable tapestry, commemorating the discovery of America.
The Parador can be accessed from Tordesillas along the general road from Madrid- A Coruna. 12-04SS. 2 kms to city centre. 205 kms to the airport (madrid). 40 kms to the airport (valladolid). 22 km to the nearest station (medina del campo). 20 minute walk to the nearest bus stop.
