location- This hotel is located in the centre of the glacier village of Grindelwald, opposite the railway station and within easy access to all the lifts and shops and enjoying spectacular views of the mountains. rooms- The medium sized rooms are comfortably furnished, all having been renovated in the last few years. Though the rooms vary in style they are all in very good condition. The front facing rooms are particularly bright due to the French windows leading on to the balconies which command magnificent views over the valley to the Eiger. The bathrooms are all in good condition. restaurant- In addition to the terrace restaurant, the hotel has an a la carte restaurant furnished in a modern, elegant style, and two "stuebli" or typical Swiss restaurants, decorated in typical Bernese Oberland style with carved wood panelling. exterior- The hotel is traditional in style and consists of several buildings which have been merged together. The balconies at the front of the hotel are adorned with flowers, creating a pleasant alpine effect. lobby- The small lobby is entered via full length glass doors. It is ornately decorated with Swiss wood panelling and a beautiful stone floor. general- This is a friendly family run hotel with an ambience which the owners, the Konzett family, are justly proud of and work hard to maintain. It also has a delightful wellness area which includes the luxury of a rooftop sun terrace. PL 08/06. 100 kms to the airport (berne). 200 kms to the airport (zurich). Close to the station (grindelwald). 1 minute walk to the nearest bus stop. 50 km to the nearest fair site (berne).
