location- This hotel is the largest in the area and is situated in the centre of Grindelwald within easy walking distance of the railway station and all other amenities. It overlooks the valley and is set in very peaceful surroundings. rooms- Most of the medium to large rooms have a balcony and have been decorated in a typical Swiss style using a lot of pine furniture and wooden beams. The rooms are in good condition as are the bathrooms. About half the rooms enjoy spectacular uninterrupted views of the Eiger, though all single rooms face away from the mountain. restaurant- The hotel restaurants offer a wide variety of international and local dishes at very reasonable prices. exterior- The hotel consists of two very different types of buildings; one resembles a chalet and is very attractive with wooden balconies and the other is a modern styled building. lobby- The large traditional style lobby incorporates a spacious lounge with an open fireplace that evokes a homely atmosphere. general- PL 08/06. 200 kms to the airport (zurich). 75 kms to the airport (berne). Close to the station (grindelwald (500m)). 80 km to the nearest fair site.
