location- The hotel is located directly on the promenade by Lake Lucerne about five minutes walk into the centre of the charming old town. rooms- The rooms vary considerably in size, from medium to very large. They are mostly very opulent with antique furniture and high ceilings, though some of the smaller, non-lakeview rooms are a little more subdued in style. It goes without saying in this top five star that both the rooms and the luxurious bathrooms are in exceptional condition. restaurant- The hotel has three restaurants one is traditional and very grand with beautiful coving round the ceiling and chandeliers, one is an Italian restaurant: Gault Millau restaurant II Padrino, offering lunch and dinner. Finally the hotel also has a very high class Thai restaurant. All three restaurants offer terrace dining in the summer season. exterior- This is the smallest of Lucerne s three grand five star hotels, but its exterior is nonetheless extremely impressive. lobby- The lobby is medium sized with a beautiful carpet and wonderful original features. general- This lovely five star comes highly recommended particularly for discerning travellers insisting on fine service.EM07/05. 1 kms to city centre. 60 kms to the nearest airport (zurich). 1 km to the nearest station (bahnhof).
