location- This hotel is located in a peaceful area of Zurich behind its opera house. The lake, the old town ("Niederdorf") and Bellevue are all just a short and pleasant stroll away. rooms- The rooms are of varying sizes, but on average they are large. They are decorated in elegant, grand style, but have not been refurbished for some years and therefore appear a little dated in some respects. Nonetheless the furniture and fittings are of a high standard and kept in good condition. The bathrooms are also a bit old fashioned, but are serviceable and also in good condition. restaurant- The restaurant is very stylish and serves modern European cuisine. exterior- This is a discreet, but attractive building, blending in nicely with its grand neighbours. lobby- The lobby is very small and intimate with bright red carpeting and a small welcoming reception desk. general- This hotel will appeal to those who prefer their hotels in the grand traditional mould and can overlook the fact that some elements could ideally do with updating. PL 09/06. 15 kms to the nearest airport (zurich). 1 minute walk to the nearest metro station (opernhaus). Close to the station (stadelhofen). 1 minute walk to the nearest bus stop. 10 km to the nearest fair site (messe oerlikon).
