Justice (Pt.2) @ Ambassador
But enough bad poetry. Justice pulled out all the stops for this show, dropping SebastiAns Greel, an evil Jacques le Cont re-edit, A-Tracks Say Whoa, Soulwaxs Dominator remix, several Phantom remixes amongst other monster tracks, gradually building intensity and heaviness. These were two masters at work, their skills finely attuned in that way that can only be achieved after Seventeen months of incessant touring. Old tracks were given fresh life, with Auge adding extra synthesized textures by use of a Korg microKontrol midi device. There was also a refreshing variation of styles with everything from Disco to Hip Hop creeping into the mix. The one travesty of the night to speak of was not playing "Waters of Nazareth" but they're probably sick to death of it at this stage. As the crowd was just getting into "We are your Friends". The girl behind me, her legs go out from under her and she collapses. Its a bad fall, she looks about 16. I grab her under the armpits and three lads help me get her across the railing to a bouncer. Children! Know your Rave Limits! I dodge out for a second to get my jacket before that filthy queue gets too bad, and then slink back in the disabled access door. Having obliged the by know inevitable chants of "One more Tune", Medhi has made the mistake of attempting stage diving. I dont know what it is about Irish crowds but we can never seem to get this right. Its more like hes sucked into the clawing mass but hes not up high at all, maybe two foot above his regular height. Some arsehole is slapping/patting him on the head. He luckily gets out unscathed; however De Rosnay is another story. The same kind of bullshit falling/ pushing, two foot above the ground thing happens and as the bouncers are trying to get him back out over the barrier, someone grabs his expensive looking braclet and bits of it fly everywhere, snatched up by hungry hands. Xavier seems not to notice, gets back on stage and attempts to jock some drunk birds bra in front of the whole crowd. Everyone Laughs. Then it hits him, a look of terror. The braclet. Most of the crowd has been kicked out at this stage and Im talking to SO ME. I pick up a piece of the braclet, a kind of silver ball and de Rosnay comes over gesticulating. Takes it out my hand and Thanks me. But its not what hes looking for, it was something attached to the braclet. Myself, the bouncers and a few good natured types and de Rosnay look for the item that, I will just say, was of sentimental value as he had it while writing most of his music. It becomes obvious, some fucking thievin' scrote is gone with it into the night, probably planning to hawk it on Ebay as we speak and forever cheapening these heroes perceptions of Irish people. De Rosnay looks completely broken and dejected. Even the slappers (who look as close to manicured gazelles as you can get) offering to Ride him dont do anything to cheer him up. Talking to Busy P, with his pitch perfect English and scruffy, Labrador-like head on him, I tell him to keep an eye out for it on the aforementioned site. Ever the pragmatist, he confidently says "Well, its not just about the cost of the thing, its more the sentimental value of the thing. But we'll get it back, well put the word out. Maybe you could make some calls, ask your friends". I ask him did he ever get all his vinyl that was stolen in Barcelona back. "No". Hmmmmmm. And with that the Ed Rec crew piles into a grey Mini Van and speeds off into the night towards a plane bound for Montreal. Spreading the Party ethos and a healthy dose of banging Tunes in their wake. So now you know; If the sorry excuse for a human being is out there and considers his/ herself a fan youll get in touch with me, I know the people who can get it back to them.

Primal urge principles matter, even if we don't like them. It is pointless to seek and establish some new notions. Ronaldinho World Exclusive
On Friday, August 11th, 2006, Ronaldo de Assis Moreira - "Ronaldinho Gaucho" was honored as Goodwill Ambassador to the United Nations Sport for Development and Peace Program, after being welcomed at a private meeting by Secretary-General Kofi Annan. Ronaldinho will help promote efforts to eliminate extreme poverty and reach the other Millennium Development Goals along with FutbolMasters and EuroSID, through the Players For Peace initiatives. "I am extremely honored and excited to lend my support to United Nations Sport for Development and Peace initiatives," said Ronaldinho, who was accompanied by his brother, Roberto Assis, Members of FC Barcelona and Elias Figueroa and Steve Leighton from FutbolMasters along with Anna Maria Ursillo of EusoSID. "Sport is a universal language that has no barriers. Football has obviously provided me with a wonderful life, and I believe it is now my mission to give something back and to help youth understand that the power of sport can help them achieve their dreams." One of Ronaldinho's first activities as UN Spokesperson will be helping mobilize youth worldwide to tackle poverty in connection with the United Nations Global Youth Leadership Summit in New York on 29-31 October, organized by the UN New York Office of Sport for Development and Peace. His appointment was made on behalf of Adolf Ogi, Special Adviser to the Secretary-General on Sport for Development and Peace, by Dr. Djibril Diallo, Director of the UN New York Office of Sport for Development and Peace 2005. "We thank Ronaldinho for helping win the match against poverty," said Dr. Diallo. Mr. Ogi, former President of Switzerland, said in a message that: "Ronaldinho's appointment builds on the momentum of the International Year of Sport and Physical Education 2005 by helping mobilize the world of soccer and its fans in support of social and economic development, health, education and peace." Ambassador Heraldo Muñoz , Permanent Representative of Chile to the United Nations, said: "The United Nations has recognized the tremendous potential of sport to bring people around the world together and improve health and education, and I warmly welcome the appointment of Ronaldinho as Spokesperson for Sport for Development and Peace." The Ambassador spoke on behalf of the Group of Friends of Sport for Development and Peace, an open-ended group of more than 25 ambassadors at the UN. Ronaldinho has twice been awarded the FIFA World Player of the Year award, in 2004 and 2005, as well as the European Footballer of the Year and the FIFPro World Player of the Year awards in 2005. He also serves as a UN World Food Programme Ambassador Against Hunger. The New York and Geneva offices of the Special Adviser encourage mainstreaming of sport as tool for development and peace throughout the UN system and among partners, including the world of sport, Governments, civil society, the media, academia, and other sectors. They work closely with the sport community, including the Fédération Internationale de Football Associations (FIFA), to use sport's popularity and power to help people build better lives, create opportunities for development, and build a more peaceful world. Football Icon Elias Figueroa and his FutbolMasters Organization and Anna Maria Ursillo, President of EuroSID, have assisted with Ronaldinho's connection with the UN New York Office of Sport for Development and Peace. Cristobal Aldunate Jory, Consultant for Latin America and the Caribbean with the UN New York Office of Sport for Development and Peace and Steve Leighton will facilitate Ronaldinho's activities in cooperation with the United Nations in the region. Member States of the United Nations last year unanimously requested the Secretary-General to create an Action Plan on Sport for Development and Peace, and this will be presented to the General Assembly at its next session this fall.
